1 Corinthians 15:54-57, “So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. 55O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? 56The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. 57But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
A rut is a grave with both ends kicked out!
Soul winning, soul winning, SOUL WINNING!!! That is the major theme and priority in our church. Can you have too much of soul winning? NO!!! BUT…you can get into a routine that becomes a rut, which will hurt your zeal, attitude, freshness, and effectiveness.
Here are eleven ways to stay out of the soul winning rut!
SWITCH SOUL WINNING PARTNERS FROM TIME TO TIME
Going soul winning with someone new can refresh and sharpen you.
GIVE BOTH PARTNERS OPPORTUNITY TO WIN SOULS
Take turns knocking doors. One partner knocks doors until he gets to talk to someone, then it becomes the other person’s turn. Take turns talking to people on the streets.
DO DIFFERENT TYPES OF SOUL WINNING
Door-to-door, tract passing, parking lot, shopping center, street preaching (Gospel) – variety is the spice of soul winning life!
ADULTS GO WITH TEENS
This is good for a teenager who needs to learn more or be sharpened or an adult who needs to experience the energy and enthusiasm of a teenager.
GO SOUL WINNING AS A FAMILY
This gives your family a joint purpose and allows each family member to see the Lord using another family member.
GO ON A SOUL WINNING BLITZ
Spend a whole day doing nothing but soul winning. You will come away charged up! Afterwards, spend time sharing testimonies about your soul winning experiences.
GO “SPOT” SOUL WINNING
Take a walk and talk to the first person you SPOT. Take a ride, pull over and talk to the first person you SPOT.
GO WITH A SOUL WINNING PARTNER YOU DON’T LIKE (YOU HEARD ME RIGHT!)
Personal problems seem to disappear while soul winning. Personal views change from self to others while soul winning.
GO SOUL WINNING AT A DIFFERENT TIME
I would suggest keeping your regular soul winning time and add a special time that is a completely different time of day or night.
MAKE SOUL WINNING YOUR PURPOSE (YOUR JOB), NOT JUST A PASTIME!
Allow soul winning to become your personal job by allowing the time, energy, study, and going to make you better in talking with people and sharing the Gospel.
MAKE SOUL WINNING A PART OF YOUR DNA, NOT JUST A TIME YOU ATTEND A MEETING AND GO
Be a soul winner; do not just attend a soul winning meeting. Be a soul winner who always hands out Gospel tracts and talks to people.
